SAHAGÚN

Sahagún: Although a monastery was founded there at the beginning of the X Century, it had its apogee in the XI century with the arrival of the Cluniac monks. It was the most important Benedictine abbey in Spain and it has also outstanding examples of Brick Romanesque, such as San Tirso and San Lorenzo.

Sahagún: Aunque a principios del siglo X se fundó un monasterio, su verdadero auge lo conoció en el siglo XI con la llegada de los monjes cluniacenses. Fue la abadía benedictina más importante de España y cuenta, además, con ejemplos importantes del románico del ladrillo, tales como San Tirso y San Lorenzo.
